According to the latest data from the Cadastral Department of the country, in June 2022 alone, foreigners bought housing in Turkey for more than $1 billion. For the first 6 months, the amount of proceeds amounted to $3.5 billion. In June, real estate sales growth was 81.8% compared to June 2021. The share of housing purchased by foreigners was 5.7% in total real estate sales in Turkey, and this is a historical record. Istanbul, Antalya region and Mersin in third place are in the first positions for buying real estate in Turkey. The most active buyers this year were the Russians, who have sharply increased their interest in Turkish housing. For example, in June, citizens of the Russian Federation purchased 1,887 objects. The second and third places were shared by citizens of Iran and Iraq, who bought 987 and 807 properties in Turkey. Real estate experts predict further price increases due to global inflation.
